Bucchero, molded, stamped and tooled. Ovoid body, flared base, 2 horizontal handles and one vertical strap handle. Two human heads on rim, molded band and relief head with snake-like curls on neck, 3 pegasoi and 4 seated felines on shoulder. 5 relief chimaeras walking right on body. Fabric: light gray core, medium grain, white inclusions and flecks of mica. Dull black slip on surface. Condition: Surface flaking several breaks mended with light grey substance. Foot largely restored with plaster and dull black paint. Yellow deposit in interior. Rim buckled. Technique: Neck thrown in jigger on wheels. Curls applied. 3 small stamps used for pegasoi, felines and chimaeras. Applied petal at top of vertical handle. Head attachment on rim molded.
