| Description | Limestone mold for upper part of lamp with high knob handle, circular body, and volute nozzle. Decoration in relief around the body; the discus which is convex bears the incised figure of a seated woman opening a box. 4 knobs around edges for socketing into lower part of mold. Fitzgerald: “A similar volute-nozzle appears on the lamp-mould from the Terrace, House III, Room 2, on which is seen the seated figure of a woman in the act of opening a box.” |
