Spear

Blade of triangular form (blunt point) with base cut to form two backward-pointing barbs. Long shank, the greater part rectangular in cross-section. It is inserted into the shaft by means of a tang, and this insertion is reinforced by a spiral strip of iron; two short iron spirals encircle the shaft at two other points, including the butt. The upper part of the shaft and a short portion near the butt are wrapped with strips of snake-skin.
