| Description | Square with flat bottom; pointed corners; fairly straight sides, somewhat round top; oak splints; twilled plaiting in under 3 over 3 weave both inside and outside. Rim: splints turned over and caught between the two layers or continued some to other side. Decoration: some splints dyed red; too faded to follow either inside or outside design. Probably aniline dyes. Quite heavy. |
