| Description | A wooden fragment of a canoe prow (tauihu). Pakura surface carving on both the front and the back of the fragment. A pakura pattern is made up of a sequence of spirals, each linked by two parallel ridges that run tangentially from the outer edge of one spiral to the center of the next. The remaining space is filled with curved, crescent-shaped ridges that follow the contours of the spirals' outer edges. |
