| Description | Vermeule: Green Mottled Agate? Intaglio. (Modern Gold Ring Setting) Athena standing to left. There appears to be a tree standing in the background and she appears to be casting an object into a large amphora. Undoubtedly the scene of Athena casting her vote in the Judgement of Areste. Graeco-Roman. Compare the similar scene on Roman IInd A.D. Sarcophagi. |
