| Description | Plaid sarong with figures (tembe paleka-salunka). Predyed synthetic (nggoli). Machine sewn. Made in 1983, Larodu hamlet. Blue, with overall pattern of paris of small fern shoots in hot pink, white & yellow. Flanking seam a row of trees and a row of nested diamionds. Panel defined by golden yellow zig-zags (nagi). Panel decoration features large nested diamonds with crosses in centers in yellow, golden yellow, white & green. Border stripes golden yellow, with motifs that look like spindles (?) or leaves. near seam a tear, repaired with machine stitching, running into a tree. |
