Description

The limestone funerary stela depicts the deceased holding a staff and receiving offerings from five male bearers who occupy the lower register of the scene. A smaller male figure, possibly his son, is depicted behind him. Three lines of text comprise the upper registers and read: “An offering that the king gives and an offering that Anubis (gives), he who is upon his mountain, he who is in the place of embalming, invocation offerings for the noble of the king, companion of the house, judge and border official of the preeminent place, greatest of the tens of Upper Egypt, overseer of the phyles of the nome, estate manager, sole friend, lector priest, royal overseer, his beautiful name, Idu the Younger.”
