| Description | Bucchero, stamped and tooled. Ovoid body, low flared foot, two fluted handles. 8 relief lions walking R. on body; tongues on shoulder; incised lines above foot. Fabric: dark gray core, medium grained with flecks of mica (?) and white stone. Smooth black surface. Condition: surface chipped and peeling. Several pieces missing. Long vertical crack below one handle. Technique: shoulder thrown in a jigger on a wheel. Lions stamped with small mold. Burnished. |
