Description

A cloth mirror case with pasted paper ornamentation. The center depicts two figures on a qilin, one holding a ruyi scepter made of a sacred wish-fulfilling fungus. The bottom has a butterfly symbolizing blesssings and happiness. The handle has a sheng musical instrument and a branch of osmanthus. This is a rebus for "May you give birth to distinguished sons" (連生貴子 liansheng guizhi). The handle is separated from the main cover section.
