| Description | Cap (.1) with embroidered shawl (.2). White turban embroidered in gold-colored thread wrapped about a cap of quilted cotton cloth covered with strips of white, red, black, green silk cloth in simple basketwork technique -- over-one-under-one -- in chequer patterns. Compare the turban and cap 16692, from Johore; the latter (cap) has a foundation of netted fibre. See also 29-173-8. |
