| Description | Jewelled and highly decorated crown (mukuta) with a dorje or thunderbolt emblem at the top worn by Vajracharyas, a priest caste, in Nepal. Vajracharya priests preside over rituals central to the Vajrayana sect of Buddhism. The crown is said to have originally come from a life size bronze statue of the Buddha. It is brass with colored glass inlay. Various Buddhist deities cover the piece. |
