| Description | The object is identified as a Hopi Grandmother or Hahai-i Whuti, the mother of all kachinas. The Kachina is made of carved painted wood. The figure has a white mask with red ears and black eyes and mouth. A black and gray feather is attached to the top of the head. The Kachina wears a black manta dress, white fabric cloak with red and black borders, a green and red belt, and brown moccasin boots. The figure holds no objects. Paint colors: white, black, green, red, brown, pink/brown, light orange. |
