| Description | The object is identified as a Hopi Cow. The Kachina is carved painted wood with a brown mask, bulging eyes, fur and feathers on the top of the head between two black and white horns. The figure wears a brown kilt, concho belt, embroidered sash at left side, fox pelt at back side, bandoliers across the chest, green arm bands, and holds a gourd rattle in proper left (PL) hand and a bow in the proper left (PL). Red yarn is tied around the base of the mouth. Paint colors: white, black, red, pink, brown, light blue, green, light yellow, orange and mauve. |
