| Description | Huipil of indigo cotton. Plain weave background with solid brocading in bands of geometric, chevron, rectangle and parallelogram motifs for 37 cm from shoulder. 8 cm open bands, all single faced, multicolored brocade. Red, white and blue rosettes appliqued on the front, back and shoulders at neckline. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 46 epi, two singles, Z twist, blue cotton. Weft: 28 ppi, two singles, Z twist, blue cotton. Warp predominantly plain eave. Supplementary weft is single faced. Three panels- central panel has four selvedges, side panels have three selvedges each, panels are joined by machine. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
