Description

Domed circular shield of thick hide (possibly Rhino skin). Face originally had four large bosses of copper (?). One is missing. There are also two smaller bosses and a crescent-shaped piece of metal attached. The grip is of two velvet bands and a velvet pad--the bands are attached with iron rings. The design is reflective of shields from India and Bhutan.
