| Description | Cap portion (kasa 笠) for a bronze lantern. This acts as an umbrella over the firebox to protect the lantern. There are symbols on the side of the piece, one is a rinpo (輪宝) or horin wheel and the other is a heart shaped symbol called inome. There are six sides with radiating ridges which terminate in a curling bracket called warabite 蕨手 only two of which are still intact (another is partially intact). There are six bells that hang off the brackets. |
