| Description | Burmese bronze sitting Buddha on a Munchalinda. The Buddha is seated in dhyanasana on a three coiled body of Muchalinda. His hands are in the bhumisarsa and dhyana mudra and he is wearing a monastic robe falling from the left shoulder across his body. His face has a benevolent expression with a bow-shaped mouth and inset eyes with finely arched eyebrows in relief. The hair is rendered in tiny curls surmounted by a domed ushnisha contained by a broad band corresponding to the fillet. The piece is in a Mandalay style with an unusual form of the Muchalinda with only one head. |
