| Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The figure is thin and tall and features four ears of differently colored corn painted down the front. The face is painted green and has a horizontal band of multicolored squares over the mouth. A black beard hangs beneath the mouth with a single feather down the middle. The painted robe is wrapped around the body with stepped geometric designs representing clouds. This figure is a variant of Corn Maiden Katsina. (Colton, H. 1959 #128, #129, #165) |
