| Description | Woman holding chest with snake on lid. Figure of a woman, probaably intended for a portrait. She has long loose hair and her eyes are closed. She holds in both hands a covered box with a handle in the shape of a snake, the emblem of the healing Aesculapius. Possibly a votive offering after a severe spell of sickness. Possible forgery; certainly not ancient. |
