| Description | Naskapi hand rattle; in the shape of a large circle with a curved handle coming out of the circle; the rim of the rattle and the handle are made of wood. Caribou skin is stretched taunt sewn around the rim; the skin is like a drum head. It is painted red around the rim; a red ring is painted in the center of each side with a blue dot painted in the center of each side with a blue dot painted at the center of the ring on each side. A piece of rawhide is tied around the tip of the handle. |
