| Description | Sword. Kampilan. Heavy sword with a long, straight single-edged blade, broadening slightly to point, which has an angled side. Light brown blotches of rust (?) on blade. Bifurcated wooden handle with circular "eye," possibly a representation of the open jaws of a crocodile, with thick fringe of black hair. Grip wound with thin rattan (?). Catalogued as "Borneo type," but not clear why. |
