| Description | Seated female figurine. Red glazed vessel with hole in top of head. Woman is wearing a painted headband (tan, nose ring (red and grey), ear ornaments (red and grey), an armband on each arm, and a skirt (beige with alternate row of red and grey spots). Skirt is cracked. Face, neck and chest are painted with grey and white spots. Face has some additional stripes in grey over the area of the face below the forehead. a grey bowl with alternate rows of red and white spots rests on leeft knee. Left hand holds rim. All features are well-defined. Found in Bob Sharer's Office (433) on Jan. 4, 2013. Was part of Walter Piper Accession in 1972 (fakes). |
