| Description | One of a series of woodblock prints with color depicting the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. This print shows a wounded Chinese Commander Zuo Baogui 左寶貴 in a black robe being led into a field hospital. This event never occured as Zuo Baogui was killed during the battle of Pyongyang. Other Chinese soldiers are visible in the background. There are inscriptions in red in the margins and a seal and signature for the artist Yukawa Hiromitsu. |
