| Description | Stirup spout vessel of red ware with red and white paint. Portrait of a warrior, kneeling on left knee and grasping war club with both hands. Wears tunic, fringed and spotted; broad cuffs; and elaborate headress worn over head-cloth, a split jaguar skin band with head in front, legs at side and tail pendant at back. From this band a deep bowl-shaped disc projects at each side of the figure's head: rising from behind the jaguar head is a flat disc bearing a circle of twelve pellets. The headdress is supported by a strap over the head and tied under the chin. The figure wears a disc nose pendant. |
