| Description | Wooden Katsina doll carved from one piece of wood. The upper half is of a Katsina emerging from the center of a flower. The face is bisected horizontally and painted two shades of purple. Long, black hair hangs down from the head. A painted blanket is worn over the body and a dress underneath. A basket of multicolored corn is held in one hand. Large butterfly wings are attached to the back of the figure. The base is of a large flower sprouting among grass. Smaller flowers among the grass each feature a maiden Katsina in their centers. Made by Alvin Navasie Sr. |
