| Description | Wooden Katsina doll carved from one piece of wood. The face is painted brown and facial features are exaggerated and protruding. A plume of feathers and a horn project from the top of the head. A white-painted, sleeved garment is worn around the torso and a painted kilt around the waist. A stick is held in one hand and a rattle in the other. This figure is the Mudhead (Koyemsi), a type of Katsina clown. Made by Delmer Larson (?). (Colton, H. 1959 #59, Wright, B., 1973 #238) |
