| Description | Fragment of shoulder of amphora. Interior unglazed. On exterior decoration is dull, matt brown-black glaze. At right is a broad band of glaze evidently forming the right side of a panel. In panel at left, on a reserved ground, is the following decoration, top to bottom: ?wheel painted glazed line; horizontal line of quirks; wheel painted glazed line; band of quirks; 3 wheel painted glazed lines; horizontal zig-zag band consisting of 2 bordering lines between which are hatched lines. Hard clay, brownish at break. Identification by Nicolas Coldstream on visit 8Apr82. |
