| Description | On the front of this iron tsuba stands an egret in grass, ivy (tsuta) twines through a tree on the right. On the reverse, a dragonfly flies over a fence of tied sticks and ground bamboo plants. Typical of late nineteenth century work from Mito Province north of Tokyo. Autumn scene (rice of gold is ripe; no leaves on trees). |
