| Description | Vermeule: Red Jasper. Intaglio. (Modern silver ring setting) An eagle standing to right, bearing at the body of a hare which it clutches in its talons. The design is a traditional one in Greek Art going back to the coins of Akragus in the later Vth century B.C. Graeco-Roman, based on an older model. |
