| Description | Baby blanket. Double-faced on a pink ground with white designs of cats, butterflies, and flowers. The same design is on reverse with a white ground and pink design. It is finished on both ends. This infant's blanket was used to swaddle a baby, a Mongolian tradition. The fabric was made in Russia and purchased in Mongolian shops during the Socialist era. It is cut along one side in order to make a square so that swaddling is easier. The practice of swaddling is still practiced in the countryside for the first three-four months. |
