| Description | Wooden Katsina doll painted reddish-brown. The face has dots for eyes and a mouth and two vertical, white lines below each eye. There are three protrusions around the head and one on top. A black scarf is painted around the neck and a black kilt is painted around the waist. Yellow and red moccasins are painted over the feet. This figure is the Mudhead (Koyemsi), a type of Katsina clown. (Colton, H. 1959 #59, Wright, B., 1973 #238) |
