| Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The face is unpainted with two black, vertical lines below the eyes. The eyes are rectangular with upturned ends and the mouth is a protruding, yellow beak. The forehead is painted red. One ear is a tuft of white feathers and the other is red yarn. The body is painted red with a kilt painted around the waist. This figure is a Tasap Katsina, a representation of a Navajo person. (Colton, H. 1959 #137, Wright, B., 1973 #180) |
