| Description | A curved wooden club that has no distinctive clubhead. A piece of carved wood with two dull points and thick stripes of black on three quarters of the length of the club. On the part that is unstriped, there are small incisions in the wood. “When two [women] have quarreled, they take this stick to settle the matter. One bends her head and the other gives her a blow, the stick is then handed on to the other who returns the blow on the first woman’s bend head. This is repeated until one is stunned, the unconscious one is tended by the conqueror, peace is established and everything is forgotten and forgiven.” (Collector’s Object List). |
