| Description | War drum (Chu-ko-ku). Bronze with dark brown and green patina. Low circular shape with bulging shoulder and flat top. The incised decoration is centered by a 12 pointed star followed by intricate border devises in circular form. 4 suspension handles on shoulder. These drums of the Shan tribes, along the Burmese frontier derived their name, Chu-ko drums, after the Chinese general Chu-ko Liang (Zhuge Liang 181-234 CE) , who invaded that country during the Minor Han dynasty (221-265 CE). |
