| Description | A sample of dried hibiscus flowers used as a dye. There are two paper cards that have information about the flowers. The front of card one reads: "7295 Hibiscus FLOWERS Hibiscus sp MALOCEAE TONKIN". The back of the card reads: "HIBISCUS Large red FLOWERS used to color liquors TONKIN".The front of the second card reads: "HIBISCUS FLOWERS used for red color TONKIN". The back of that card is all black with some glue on it as it may have served as a label for an exhibit at the Commercial Museum. |
