Description

CBS Register: baked clay tablet enclosed in envelope and sealed. I Dyn of Babylon. Letter to Lustamar concerning a claim against a house.

PBS XIV: The worshiping of Shamash stepping forth, notched sword in hand, his bare leg lifted on a conical mount. He has the usual horned mitre, hair tied in a loop and plaited shawl open in front. A bearded worshiper brings a kid as an offering. He has a turban and a fringed shawl open in front. There are a crescent and a sun disk above.

Ishtar in front face steps forth caduceus and scimitar in hands. Her bare leg is lifted on a small crouching lion which she leads by a cord attached to her right hand. She has a horned mitre, quivers and arrows on her shoulders, straps across her breast and a plaited shawl girded about.

Seal impress. on the envelope of a letter from Sin-rimeni to Lushtamar. The seal reads:

“Arad Sin//son of Anna-ili//servant of Martu”

At the time of Samsuiluna.
