| Description | Wooden peg fetish with carved head at top end; body of piece is cylindrical, smooth surface, tapeirng towards base; features of face-oblong shaped slit eyes, triangular shaped nose; half-oval shaped opened mouth; hair is of a rounded crest, in which two orange feathers protrude from the center. Probably a hunter's amulet. See the similiar object from the Bahuana. Peg fetish is called a "Mpungo" See AF447. |
