| Description | Sommerville: Antique paste intaglio, color emerald. Ulysses and Menelaus. Antique Pastes, Case XXX. Vermeule: Glass paste, imitating emerald. Intaglio (Unmounted) Ares and Aphrodite seated to right. They appear to be on Ares' cuirass and his shield appears at the right. Graeco-Roman, the scene based on some Hellenistic statue group or painting. |
