| Description | Vermeule: Sard. Intaglio. (Modern Silver ring setting) Bust of a philosopher facing slightly to right. The features resemble the neo-classic concept of Diogines as known from the ancient statuette in the Villa Torlonia Albani and its counterpart in the Metropolitan Museum. The Stone is signed in Greek letters HYLLOS, a famous engraver of the Julio-Claudian period. Neo-Classic |
