| Description | Multi-colored chakla, or wall hanging. Embroidered square of red silk framed by appliqued cotton borders. Birds and female figures in lower portion of silk with tree/leaf like pattern repeated above. Back lined with cotton. Silk satin embroidered with silk thread. The predominant stitch technique is an interlaced herringbone stitch; chain stitch is used for some outlines and to fill in the small birds in the arched niches on the lower border. |
