| Description | Slit drum (garamut). Hollowed log with a longitudinal slit and at each end a projecting face carved in typical lower Sepik style. Under each face, the carved figure of a dog (?), one unfinished. Sides decorated with incised linear designs: spirals, ovoids, etc., bordered by zigzag lines and rows of discs in relief. Carving much worn away on one side. No pigment. |
