| Description | Buddhist symbols fastened to a black lacquered planche with a red and gold border. The symbols are the sanko-sho, a three prong vajra in cross form called katsuma kongo, a toko-sho or single prong vajra, a kuko-sho or nine prong vajra, and an eight-spoke rimbo which combines the dharmacakra with a lotus flower. This was most likely associated with a Shingon Buddhist temple. |
