| Description | Shell. Engraved design of 2 confronting winged griffins rampants separated by a tree of life over a lion couchant. To left of them is man with snake in front of him and lion rampant behind. Dot filling between figures. Mounted in gold recently. Note in box reads: "M232. Mitannian. Shell. Babylonia Cylinder representing 2 sphin, 2 lions, Hercules and several symbols. Found at Aleppo. 2500 BC" |
