| Description | Flattened base; high knob handle with a herring bone decoration; wide nozzle with slightly incurving sides; molded decoration of a herring bone garland pattern on the sides, and on the nozzle is a molded amphora between bunches of grapes. Orange-brown ware; nozzle blackened by use. Card says this lamp was found with Roman and Byzantine lamps. |
