| Description | Doll - figure of a woman in a black woven dress with an orange collar; the hems of the sleeves are decorated with a green scalloped triangle design – the same pattern decorates the hem of the skirt in green and pink. The dress is cinched at the waist with a leather belt bordered with pink, blue and white glass beads. A strap of leather connected to the belt falls to roughly knee level, and is also decorated with pink, blue, and black beads in a mirrored diamond design. The doll wears a dark red dress decorated with yellow botanical designs beneath the top woven dress; the long sleeves of this under dress stick out beneath the short sleeves of the top dress. The doll wears green leggings and hide (likely buckskin) boots. In its left hand is a small square bag decorated with light blue beads and yellow and dark blue beads in a diamond design. The head is very small and is decorated with a lock of real hair in braids – it is unclear if it is animal or human. It is dark brown, coarse, and straight. |
