| Description | Necklace of five strands of silver and shell beads; interspersed larger beads of turquoise, shell and bone and a single silver concho attached. Strands strung on hide and cotton string. According to Speck, this necklace belonged to a female relative of the Apache Chief and was obtained from Maj. Gen. Galusha, USA when in command in the Southwest and given by him to Speck, -written in Speck's handwriting. Measurements noted are those of the brooch. |
