| Description | Camp hat (jingasa) used by soldiers. This paper mache hat is circular but with four ridges emanating from the center that give it a slightly geometric appearance rather than a perfectly round one. The exterior is coated with black lacquer and the interior is coated with red lacquer. The blue lining (ukebari) is intact. A gold family crest (mon) is painted on the front of the hat with a design representing cloves (右二つ丁子巴). Two curved stalks are oriented with thicker ends toward the center of the crest and on each thicker end are three cloves. |
