| Description | Plain flat base with steeply rising walls curving gently to shoulder. Body about 1/3 preserved. Non-joining fragments indicate a steep shoulder, slightly arched handle to rim, and trefoil mouth. A large lump of clay is left like a hub on the inside of the base. All this seems to point to MP, 44, fig. 12:139 (form 39), as the probable shape of this pot (cf. also MPL, pl. XIII:9-10 and see comment below). Clay: like 49-12-56 but slightly more pinkish in hue. No decoration. |
