Description

A votive supta created to celebrate the 2500th Buddha Jayanti which commemorates the Buddha's birth, enlightement, and death on the full moon of the Vaisakha month. It was likely modelled after an example in the National Museum, New Delhi (accession no. 49.129). The inscription on the front indicates it is a souvenir. It reads:
